Mr. Robert Wayne Woodard, age 64, a resident of Hollyberry Court in Columbia passed away on Thursday, July 5, in Little Rock, ARK, after a 3 ½ years battle with Multiple Myeloma.
Funeral services for Mr. Woodard will be conducted Tuesday, July 10 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Reverend Jay Hoppus officiating. Burial will be Wednesday at 1:00 PM at the Metropolis Memorial Gardens in Metropolis, IL.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 9:00 AM till service time at the funeral home.
He was born in Brookport, IL, son of the late Robert and Chloe Hise Woodard and husband of Sally Stone Woodard. He retired in 2003 as manager for United Cities Gas/Atmos Energy, where he had worked for over 30 years. He served in the Kentucky National Guard, enjoyed playing golf, was an avid fisherman and loved to travel, where he and his wife traveled to over 40 countries. He was a supporter of his wife?s company, White-Woodard Realty, and a lifelong fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He never left home without his beloved pets, Fritz and Heidi.
In addition to his wife of 42 years, he is survived by several aunts, cousins and a host of friends.
Pallbearers will be Malcomb Welker, Bill Hendry, Jerry Bell, Tim Brown, James Dubois and David Edwards. Honorary pallbearers will be the staff and agents of White-Woodard Realty.
