Mr. Robert Charles Schutt Jr., age 68 passed away in Mt. Pleasant on July 12, 2013.
Robert was born on April 10, 1944, in Ohio to the late Robert Charles Schutt Sr. and Louise “Higbee” Schutt who survives him. He worked in the oil fields for a time before working and retiring from line work at General Motors. Robert had a wonderful sense of humor. He loved making people smile and it was impossible to keep a straight face when he was around. On one memorable occasion, his family members recall that upon passing a “slow children at play” sign, Robert quipped “We can’t help it if they are slow.” Robert is also remembered by his family as quite the charmer, never missing an opportunity to flirt with a pretty lady. Above all, Robert loved to make others happy, especially his family. He loved to spend quality time with his family whether it be visiting his sons in Michigan or taking his family on vacations to enjoy the beach or to experience the culture of museums. He was always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need. Robert loved to spend any free time outdoors and especially enjoyed reeling in a big fish.
Robert is survived by his wife Patsy “Streets” Schutt; sons: Robby Schutt and Michael (Malissa) Schutt; daughters: Michelle (Jacob) Silverthorn and Danielle Schutt: grandchildren: Nicholas, Lucas, Michael, and Jazmyn Schutt; Alex Bishop, Kalissa Hayes, Ian Delong, Matthew Bishop; and Conner and Carter Silverthorn; one sister: Katy (Phil) Meuser; brothers: Gus (Deb) Schutt, Jim (Terri) Schutt, Bill (Debbie) Schutt Sr., Richard (Jackie) Schutt; and Charlie Schutt.
