Robert Jerry Riggins

Robert Jerry Riggins, age 64, a resident of Raines Lane in the Culleoka Community, passed away Monday, April 4th, 2011 with his loving family by his side.
Born March 17, 1947 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Robert F. and Frances Sesler Riggins and the husband of Mary Barnes Riggins, to whom he was married 46 years. He worked as a driver for Trailways Bus Lines in Louisiana and drove for Dallas Transit for 10 years. Mr. Riggins loved camping with his lovely wife and on beautiful days, he would get out riding around the country looking at the scenery. He was a member of the Collegeview Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he his survived by his children: Jerry Wayne Karen Riggins and Vicky Lynn Hart, both of Culleoka; his brothers: Billy Joe Riggins of California, Charles Buddy Riggins of Oregon, Joey Riggins of Lewisburg; his sisters: Shirley Brooks and Carolyn Seagraves, both of Columbia, Linda MacStead of Michigan, Coletta Jr. Poole of Mt. Pleasant and Nancy Bennett of Franklin; grandchildren: Robert Matt Riggins, Jerry Wayne Riggins Jr., Heather Nicole Smith and Ashley Michelle Pennington Randolph; great grandchildren: Richie Sills, Nick Sills, Autumn Sills, Brandon Jackson and Ashlee Nicole Riggins. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Nicole Smith and a brother: James "Jimmy" Riggins.
Funeral services for Mr. Riggins will be conducted 2:00 PM Friday, April 8, 2011 in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Greg Gwin and Dorris Raider officiating. Burial will follow in the Friendship Cemetery in Culleoka.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday and from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Gene Seagraves, Bill Barnes, Clay Barnes, James Barnes, Johnny Barnes and Jr. Poole.
