Robert “Jeep” Williams, age 64, of Columbia, passed away on November 17, 2016 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born in Brazil, Indiana to Thomas Albert and Elizabeth Jean Williams on August 10, 1952.
Jeep was a retiree from General Motors where he worked for 33 years. During his time there he spent many years serving the people of Local 1853. He was passionate about helping others and formed many lifelong friendships.
Jeep loved his family dearly. He is survived by his children Shelly (Bubba) Roberts of Spring Hill, Robbie (Honey) Williams of Summertown, Lisa (TJ) Ferguson of Culleoka and wife Dala of Columbia. His favorite people were Maddie, Lydia, Preston, Abby, Ty, Kennedy, Charlie and Jack. They lit up his beautiful smile and the sparkle in his eyes that so many knew.
Jeep was an avid sports fan. He coached many years in Columbia, Tennessee as well as Brazil, Indiana. Many children benefited from his tireless patience and love for the game. Even up to his final weeks you could find him watching his favorite basketball player.
In keeping with Jeep’s wishes there will be a private service at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Culleoka Athletic Booster Club, 1921 Warrior Way, Culleoka, Tennessee 38451.
