Robert I Thomason

Mr. Robert I. Thomason, age 85, a resident of Meadow Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Saturday, July 14, at Maury Regional Hospital.

Funeral services for Mr. Thomason will be conducted Monday at 11:00 am at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Tommy Hagewood, Jim Walsh and Randall Thomason officiating. Burial will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Giles County, he was the son of the late Arthur and Annis Overstreet Thomason and the husband of Dorothy Carpenter Thomason. He was an accountant, former owner of Apollo Carpet, an elder and member of the Locust Street Church of Christ in Mt. Pleasant.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, Robert I. Denise Thomason Jr. of Waverly, James R. Sarah Thomason of Loudon and Alan C. Denise Thomason of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Juli Mark Shannon, Robert I. Melissa Thomason III, Anni Ross Knolton, Kerri Rodney Simpson, Lisa Thomason, Randall Thomason, Hannah Thomason, Abigail Thomason and Bennett Thomason; 8 great grandchildren; sisters, Edith Tom Taylor of Murfreesboro and Dorothy Ann Lyles of Lafayette, LA.; a sister-in-law, Kathrine Thomason of Florida. He was preceded in death by brothers, Leonard E. Thomason and Arthur Thomason; sister, Hazel Coffey and granddaughter, Lindi Thomason.

Pallbearers will be Robert Thomason III, Randall Thomason, Mark Shannon, Ross Knolton, Rodney Simpson, Drew Simpson, Tommy Carpenter Jr. and Archie Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be the elders and deacons of Locust Street Church of Christ, nursing staff of Maury Regional Hospital, Tom Jones, Claude Brawner, Allen McCanless, George R. Gilliam, Dr. William Robinson and Dr. Janice Vinson.
