Robert W. “Bob” Hull, 96, of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee, received his heavenly promotion on October 11, 2019.
Bob was born on January 15, 1923 in Princeton, Kansas to the late Elmer V. Hull and Pearl L. Smith Hull. After serving in the United States Navy during World War II, he graduated from Ottawa University in 1947 with his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry. Mr. Hull worked at Stauffer Chemical Company as a chemist for forty years. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee where he held many leadership roles, including deacon, Sunday school teacher, and benevolence coordinator. He was a charter member of the Mt. Pleasant Lion’s Club where he served for over 50 years, and also served on the Mt. Pleasant Housing Authority. His life was dedicated to serving God, his family, community, and other people.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by the love of his life, Martha Henderson Hull, to whom he was married for 72 years until her passing on August 11, 2017. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James W. Hull. Bob is survived by his son: Rev. Roger (Elizabeth) Hull of Wilkesboro, North Carolina; daughters: Susan (Bill) Kimmerly of Knoxville, TN and Julie Hull of Mt. Pleasant, TN; grandson: Jeff (Desiree) Lowe of Knoxville, TN; great grandsons: Jeremiah, Asher, Samuel, and Caleb Lowe. Survivors also include his nephew, Gary Hull of Edwardsville, Kansas.
The Family will receive friends on Monday, October 14, 2019, at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Services for Mr. Hull will be conducted on Tuesday, October 15 at 10:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Frank Webb officiating. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
