Mr. Robert Frank Knox, age 88, a resident of Scott Hollow Road in Culleoka, passed away on Thursday, May 13th, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Knox will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday in the chapel of the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Corey Bell officiating. Military honors will be provided by the US Navy at the conclusion of the service.
The family will receive friends Friday from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Born September 12, 1921 in Trenton, TN, he was the son of the late James C. and Nell Johnston Knox. He was the husband of Eunice Knox, for 64 years. He retired in 1982 as a Crane Operator for General Motors. Mr. Knox made wooden toys and sold them to Dollywood and also attended craft shows with his wife. Some of his toys are on display at the National Railroad Museum in Washington, D.C. One of the highlights of his days was mowing the yard on his John Deere tractor with the grandbabies sitting in his lap. He served in the US Navy for the entirety of World War II. Mr. Knox was a member of Culleoka Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Robert Ginny Knox of Lebanon, TN, James Janet Knox of Lewisburg, TN and Alecia Aubrey Cheatham of Brookneal, VA; six grandchildren: Sheila Butch Shepherd, Shane Jessica Knox, Shamay Jeremy Warren, Kimberly Rob Cribley, Jennifer Steve Dickson and Carissa Cheatham; 12 great-grandchildren; a brother: Harold C. Knox of Sacramento, CA; a sister: Virginia Garland of Canton, MS; a very special friend of the family: Terry Groble like a third son from Port Richie, FL; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother: Joe Knox.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Culleoka Church of Christ.
