Robert “Bobby” Louis Meigs “J.R.” (Dad, Paw Paw, Ole’ Paw Paw), age 62, of Summertown, Tennessee passed away on August 12, 2018 with his beloved fiancé, Peggy Holt, by his side.
Bobby was a loving man, he lived a life of service and care to his family, friends and the community in which he lived. Bobby was a loving caregiver to his wife, Gail, throughout her 35-year battle with MS, until her passing in 2016. He always had a smile on his face and a kind word for everyone. He never met a stranger. He was a man of integrity; believing in honesty, loyalty, humility, and kindness. He taught his sons that the popular opinion isn’t always right, to stand up for what you believe in, be proud of your name, and love your family and others. Bobby was blessed to find a new lease on life when he met, fell in love with and enjoyed life with his fiancé, Peggy Holt.
Bobby was Instrumental in creating the Union at Murray Ohio. After his retirement from Murray Ohio he worked for Medical Necessities; he felt blessed to work there because he was able to serve and help others.
Bobby is survived by his fiancé, Peggy Holt; sons, Robert (Brecca) Meigs and Ron Meigs; grandchildren: Chase, Alex, Logan and Brody Meigs; great grandchildren, Dyson Pruitt and Calais Meigs; brother, Andrew Meigs; chosen daughter, Ally Meigs; brother in laws: Barry (Nancy) Brawner, Tony Brawner, Jerry (Lori Green) Brawner and David (Karan) Brawner; sister in laws; Brenda (Randy) Fox and Jenny Moore and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his loyal dogs and special friends, Molly and Sam. He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Meigs.
The Meigs family will visit with friends on Friday, August 17, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. as well as on Saturday, August 18, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant.
A Service will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with Arthur McCormack officiating. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held immediately following the service at the Summertown Saddle and Bridle Club, refreshments will be provided.
