Robert "Bob" Lovell

April 3, 1934 — January 15, 2011

Robert F. "Bob" Lovell was born April 3, 1934 in Hickman County, TN. He was the son of the late Dillard Webb and Bessie Pearl Steven Lovell. He was husband of Virginia Ervin Potts Lovell of Columbia. Bob served his country during the Korean War. After being shot there, and receiving the Purple Heart, he became an MP. He retired from the Maury County Board of Education as a custodian at the Whitthorne Middle School and enjoyed his time with his lovely wife attending wrestling matches and tractor pulls. Bob and his wife, of 23 years, loved traveling across the country. Robert was of the Christian faith.

In addition to his wife: Virginia, his is survived by a son: Robert Margaret Lovell, Jr. of Mt. Pleasant; three daughters: Tricia Joe Russell, Gennie Jerrel Lovett and Carolyn Kennemer and fiancé Ricky Roberts all of Columbia. Two sisters also survive, along with 9 grandchildren: Noreen Gallart, Elaine Kenny, Laureen Kenny, Jason Jana Lovett, Marc Kelley Craig, Tonya Rod Hinson, Kim John Workman, James Allen Jenny Morton and Heather Russell. 15 great-grandchildren: Daniel Negron, Joel Negron, Justin Caban, Jordan Lovett, Jake Lovett, Joshua Craig, Justin Bowling, Dallas Workman, Meagan Craig, Peyton Workman, Breanna Shrake, Gage Shrake, Madison Hinson, Ty Hinson and Christopher Michael "Boo-Boo" Morton also survive.

Funeral services for Mr. Lovell will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 from the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, with Rev. Ricky Cotton officiating. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors being provided by the United States Army.

The Lovell family will receive friends from 4:00 ? 9:00 PM on Monday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be David Sparkman, Jason Lovett, James Morton, Marc Craig, Justin Bowling and Dallas Workman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Gaylon Harris, Dr. Gibran Naddy, current and past staff, and teachers of Whitthorne Middle School.
