Rita Elizabeth Teeples Briggs

Mrs. Rita Elizabeth Teeples Rogers Briggs, 38, formerly of Columbia and a resident of Unionville, TN, died Friday, December 16, 2005 at her home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Briggs will be conducted Tuesday, December 20, 2005 at 2:00 pm at the First United Pentecostal Church of Columbia with Reverend Telford Tharp and Reverend Henry Mobley officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia and Tuesday from 1:00 pm until service time at the church.

The Maury County native was the daughter of Henry Teeples and the late Robbie Elizabeth Pope Teeples, wife of Timothy Briggs and former wife of Mickel Rogers. She was a clerk for Wal-mart of Columbia and Shelbyville and a former employee of Bi-Lo Foods of Columbia. She attended the First United Pentecostal Church.

In addition to her husband and father, she is survived by a two daughters, Miranda Bradley Ray Hindman of Unionville and Heather Briggs of Shelbyville; two sons, Stephen Rogers and Zack Briggs, both of Unionville; a brother, Darral Janice Teeples of Columbia; a sister, Judy Joe Green of Columbia; two grandsons; mother-in-law, Frances Briggs of Sherbin, NY; several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be the men of the First United Pentecostal Church. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of the First United Pentecostal Church and the Pentecostal Church of Jesus Christ.
