Rita Ann Sampson, age 68 and a resident of Columbia, passed away October 18, 2013 at Signature Healthcare.
Rita was born June 3, 1945 in Gary, Indiana to the late Augustine Paloncy and Julia (Pohl) Paloncy. Rita married her high school sweetheart, William L. Sampson, on January 5, 1963, and together they shared two children. She was a retired banker and extraordinary wife, mother, and grandmother. Rita was of the Catholic Faith.
Rita is survived by her husband William L. Sampson of Columbia; her daughter Julia (Guy) Trueblood of Indiana, and her son, William J. (Ladan) Sampson of California; and her beloved grandsons, Adam Curtis, Colin Curtis, Benjamin Sampson, Michael Curtis and Simon Sampson.
A celebration of life will be conducted at a later date.
