Rita Faye Young

Rita Faye Workman Young, age 58, resident of Brannon Court, passed away on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Rita was born March 4, 1954 in Maury Co., the daughter of the late Claude L. Workman and Annie Mae Green Workman. She was the wife of the late Robert L. Young who preceded her in death in 2001. Rita had worked in convenience stores in the Columbia area. She was a member of the Sharp's Corner Church of Christ.

Rita is survived by her son, Daniel Lee Staggs of Summertown; grandchildren, Camden Paul Staggs, Cadence Newcomb and Heleyna Holt; sisters, Agnes Skinner of Williamsport, Martha Jo Bassham of Mt. Pleasant, Mildred Ann Crews of Mt. Pleasant, Carolyn Sue Davis of Columbia and Janice Kay Moody of Columbia; brothers, John A. Workman of Murfreesboro and Harry T. Workman of Fayetteville along with several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Rita was preceded in death by four brothers, Joe lee Workman, J.C. Workman, Tommy W. Workman and Marvin Ray Workman.

Funeral services for Rita will be conducted Wednesday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Jeff Waldrop officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.

The family will visit with friends on Tuesday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be John Workman, Shane Moody, Tyler Kennedy, Billy Davis, Jimmy Charles Davis and Shane Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Raylan Bassham, Michael Crews, Brian Crews, Bryant Brewer, Comer Brewer and Dallas Workman.
