Ricky Keith "Big Nasty" Roberts, age 57, passed away on February 28 at his residence.
Ricky was born October 15, 1954 in Columbia, the son of the late Elmer Roberts and Juanita Cothran Roberts. After the passing of his mother at age six, Ricky was raised by his step-mother, Margaret Roberts who lives in Columbia. Ricky was currently employed by Apcom in Franklin and had formerly worked for Union Carbide Corp. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing and could occasionally be found on the golf course.
In addition to his step-mother, Ricky is survived by his two sons, Jeff and Adam Roberts, both of Knoxville; one grandson, Hunter Roberts also of Knoxville; two brothers, Paul Malinda Roberts of Mt. Juliet and Wayne Charlotte Roberts of Columbia; one sister, Linda Dennis Harrington of Columbia; numerous nieces and nephews; his loving companion, Carolyn Kennemer of Columbia and her children, Mark Kellie Craig, Tonya Rod Hinson and Kimberly John Workman; two brothers-in-law, Marvin Fautt and Jess Perry; special cousin, Duby Beckum of Mt. Pleasant; two aunts, June Beckum of Columbia and Edith Roberts and several cousins in Columbia, Mt. Pleasant and Michigan. Ricky also leaves behind all of friends at Hillview Restaurant, where he spent much time. In addition to his parents, Ricky was preceded in death by two sisters, Alma Jean Fautt and Sue Ellen Perry.
Funeral services for Ricky will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow in the Cross Bridges Cemetery.
The family will visit with friends on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Chad Mills, Chris Roberts, Brent Roberts, Brad Wilson, Graham Wilson, Tyler Powell, Brian Perry, Jeff Roberts, Adam Roberts, Dallas Workman, Justin Bowling and Peyton Workman. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Fautt, Ty Hinson, John Workman, Rod Hinson and Dwight Fautt.
