Ricky Wayne Finerty

Ricky Wayne Finerty, age 59, passed away on Monday, December 2, 2013 at his residence in Mt. Pleasant.

Ricky was born on August 3, 1954 in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee to the late Robert O. and the late Lena Mae Dugger Finerty. He worked as a carpenter and was of the Baptist faith. He loved his family, especially, his grandchildren very much and was a simple man who loved farming. He loved baseball and played 2nd base in his youth. He loved playing the guitar as his hobby and listening to gospel and country music.

He is survived by his children: Rhonda (Sarah Ankrom) Finerty of Hendersonville, Tennessee, Robert “Robby” Finerty of Hohenwald, Tennessee and Christopher “Shane” (Kristi) Finerty of Summertown, Tennessee; grandchildren: April Finerty, Emma Finerty, Tyler Finerty, Allison Finerty and Kyra Ankrom; siblings: James (Gail) Finerty, Larry Lee Finerty, Nettie Gibson, Helen (Dorris) McMullin, Freda (Bob) Coats, Darlene Chapman, Lynn (Michael) Lovett and Sandy Matthews and multiple nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Mr. Finerty is preceded in death by his nephew James Christopher Finerty and his stepfather Pete Thomason.

Funeral services for Mr. Finerty will be held on Friday, December 6, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee. The family will visit with friends on Thursday from 4:00 until 8:00 pm. at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions be made to Williams Funeral Home on behalf of Mr. Finerty.

Robby Finerty, Shane Finerty, Jason Finerty, Scotty Finerty, Teddy Finerty, and Mickey Chapman will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Massey, Scotty Henson, Dorris McMullin, Mike Lovett, Bob Coats, Gail Finerty and multiple nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews.
