Rickie Steven Clark, age 66, passed away Friday, December 12, 2014 at his home in Columbia, Tennessee.
Rickie was born August 3, 1948 in Columbia, TN to the late W.C. Clark and late Ruth Cross Clark. After finishing high school Rickie joined the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War. While serving in the Navy, Rickie was a Golden Glove Boxer. After leaving the service in 1973 he went to work at the United States Post Office for 35 years until he retired in 2003. The following year in 1974 he married his wife, whom he remained lifelong friends with after 27 years of marriage. Rickie enjoyed a lot of things in life. He loved Muscle cars, sports, playing pool and cards, but most of all he loved taking trips with his children, grandbabies, and friends. He was easy to get along with, and would make friends for a lifetime. He and his friends would enjoy driving down to Tunica, and afterwards Rickie would share his winnings with less fortunate people; he was a giving person with a heart of gold. Rickie was a Godly man and loved the word he was a member of Highland Park Church of God. There are not many like Rickie, he was a rare truly kind man. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Rickie is survived by his: daughters: Jennifer (CJ) Allen of Summertown, TN and Savanna (Ryan) Jenks of Columbia, TN; grand daughters: Lexy Allen and Tinsley Jenks; grand son: Payton Allen; mother of his children: Jean Scott-Clark; brothers: Danny (Sandy) Clark and Donny (Kathy) Clark; sister: Barbara Cummins; several nieces and nephews, special aunt Dot Anderson, an Aunt and Uncle, Edith and Jr. Cross and Many Cousins.
The family will visit with friends Sunday, December 14, 2014 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Services will be held Monday, December 15th at 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Burial to follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be: Michael Clark, Kevin Clark, Eric Prevetti, Jacob Arnold, Ronnie South, and Jeff Harris.
Honorary Pallbearers will be: Frank and Carol Stewart, Glen Stewart, Ben Stewart, Mike and Debbie Carroll, Barry Anderson, David Hardison, Robert and Rita Mooningham, Jimmy Young, Joey Thompson, Past/Present USPS employees, Maury Co. Sr. Pool Players, Betty’s Parkway card friends “Buddies”, and Hillview Restaurant Pals.
