Mr. Richard "Stretch" Thomason, age 51, resident of Howell Rd. in Mt. Pleasant, passed away Friday, July 9, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.
Funeral services for Mr. Thomason will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday, July 11, 2010 in the Chapel of the Williams Mt. Pleasant Funeral Home with Randy McNeece officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. 8:00 P.M. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Born June 10, 1959, he was the son of the late Ulna and Sara Walton Thomas Thomason. He had worked as a steel worker for different companies for most of his life.
He is survived by two brothers: Andy Betty Jo Thomason of Columbia and Charles Thomason of Mt. Pleasant; a sister: Patty Billy Collins of Culleoka; two nephews: Randall and Stephen Collins both of Culleoka; two great-nieces: Chloe Helms-Collins of Hohenwald and Lilly Ann Collins of Mt. Pleasant; and a uncle: Robert Thomason of Murfreesboro. He was preceded in death by a sister, Vickie Wiley; two nephews, Jimmy and Phillip Thomason and several aunts and uncles.
Friends and family will serve as pallbearers.
