Richard Wade Travis, age 59, of Columbia, Tennessee passed away on Tuesday June 17, 2014.
Richard was born to the late Eldrige Lee Travis and Alma Louise West Travis on August 14, 1954 in Columbia, Tennessee. Richard was a farm hand and an electrician at Morgan Brothers. Richard built several bridges, including many at the Natchez Trace Parkway. He also worked with his brothers at David Travis masonry. Richard loved playing the guitar with Jeff Roland.
Richard is survived by his daughter, Melissa Travis; brothers, Jacob (Lisa) Travis, David (Barbara) Travis, Gentry Travis; also survived by Kim West, Kelly Swindell, and Kami Harvey along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and grandkids.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Eldrige Lee Travis and Alma Louise West Travis.
The family will visit with friends Wednesday, June 25, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. A memorial service will follow the visitation at 1:00 p.m. also in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home.
