Richard Steve Bowie

Richard Steve Bowie was born October 13, 1963 in Mesquite, TX, the son of Marie King Wright of Mt. Pleasant and the late Barney Richard Steven Bowie. Steve was the husband of Vicky Grooms Bowie of Columbia. He was a backhoe operator for Tennessee Aluminum processors and did roofing and handyman projects for A-1 Exteriors in Mt. Pleasant.
Steve passed away on Wednesday, April 25, 2012.
Survivors in addition to his wife and mother include a son, Terry Green of Columbia; a special grandson, Colton green of Columbia; step-children, Stephanie Vandygriff and Jerry and Lavada Green; additional grandchildren, Nicholas and Brianna Vandygriff, Landon Boshers, Hannah, Hunter and Hayden Green an Triston Green; one sister, Helen E. "Susie" Hay of Santa Fe and Rodney Wayne Bowie of Florida; three nephews, Dakota Hay, Chase Bowie and Little John Cummins; two nieces, April White and Angela Morales along with four great nieces and nephews and a host of friends. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Royce Wayne Johnny Bowie.
Funeral services for Steve will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Randy McNeece officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 10:00 A.M. – 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Dakota Hay, Johnny Heflin, Toy Pugh, Chase Bowie, Kendall Pugh and Steven Boshers.
