Richard Neal Bailey was born September 7, 1954 in Maury County, the son of Farris “Dick” Bailey of Nebraska, Jean Thomason of Columbia and his beloved step-father, the late Claude C. Thomason, Jr.
Rick was retired Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force. After retirement, he worked for the Laumeier Sculpture Park with the St. Louis County Parks in St. Louis, MO. He attended the Mt. Joy Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Rick passed away on November 8, 2012 at his home in O’Fallon, MO.
Survivors include his children, Angela (Robert) Haley of Hawaii, Regina (Harry Chandler) Bailey of Las Vegas, NV and Michael (Tina) Bailey of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Zoe Haley, Travis Haley, Tyler Warfield, Elizabeth Bailey-Chandler, Hunter Bailey, Christian Bailey, Savannah Bailey, Braelyn Bailey and Dakoda Van Houte; brothers and sisters, Shirley (Jim) Stewart of Columbia, Debbie Gibson of Columbia, Garry (Cate) Thomason of Columbia, Terry (Carol) Thomason of Mt. Pleasant, Lynn (Danny) King of Columbia, David (Sharon) Bailey, Dennis (Michelle) Bailey, Stephen (Krista) Bailey and Tom Bailey, all of Nebraska along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lonnie and Susie Bailey and Audie and Myrtle Huffman, all of Summertown along with a niece, Jessica Ann McKennon.
A memorial service for Rick will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Dwight Liles officiating. The Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19 will provide military honors.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 12:00 Noon until time of the service at the funeral home.
