Rhonda Gail Pippin

April 19, 1957 — February 28, 2025

Lawrenceburg

Rhonda Gail Pippin, 67, passed away on February 28, 2025, at Maury Regional Medical Center. She was born in Sheffield, Alabama, and lived a life filled with love, resilience, and creativity.

Rhonda was a woman of deep faith and had a heart of gold. She dedicated much of her life embracing the open road alongside her husband, Doug, who worked for Sharp Transport. She found freedom and peace in the journey, cherishing every mile with her husband. After his death, she dedicated her life to caring for others as a Certified Nursing Assistant and a caregiver.

A poet at heart, Rhonda had a profound love for words. Writing was her sanctuary, a way to capture the emotions and experiences that shaped her life. Her poetry served as a map of her life journey—illuminating both the joys and challenges she faced with grace and introspection. An optimist by nature who survived her wanderings because of her "strong will and strong belief in God." Poetry was a permanent therapy that helped her integrate all of her memories and feelings, giving the truest picture of herself.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Douglas Pippin; her mother, Peggy Joyce Smith, her birth father, Walston Harold Pace, and her grandparents, Laura Edna Kimbrell, Walston and Beulah Pace, and Clyde and Irene Smith.

Rhonda’s memory will be cherished by her family, which includes her “Dad” Clyde Samuel Smith of Lawrenceburg, sons, Samuel Scholl of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Timothy James “TJ” Scholl of Chattanooga, TN; stepdaughter Sherice Pippin Caudle of Eagle Grove, IA; granddaughter Sarah (Dylan) Bradley of Lawrenceburg; sisters Sandra (Mike) Wilburn of Lawrenceburg and Patricia (Tucker) Ezell of Lawrenceburg; step mother, Laura Pace of Florence, Alabama, half-sister Jennifer Pace (David) Underwood; half-brother Walt Pace; and many beloved nieces, nephews, Jason (Krystle) Wilburn, Lexie and Chloe, Shalyn (Eli) Williams, Nick Shults, Halie, Hunter, Hayden, and Coleson Shults, Alexis Vance, Wesley (Chastidy) Seymore, Clint Seymore, Heather McCandless and family, Tyler Stansbury; Jonathan, Justin, Troy and Kaitlyn Pace. Sylvia Perry (aunt), Tim Perry, Keith (Roxanne) Perry and family, as well as many other extended family members.

She was blessed with lifelong friendships and was deeply grateful for the love and support of Joan Tripp, Richard Crews, Jo Anne Ellison and Bev Pippin.

We would like to personally thank the office staff of Southern Comfort, and Halie Kimbrell, NP, as well as the ICU nurses and doctors at Maury Regional Hospital.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at Immanuel Baptist Church, 709 East Gaines Street, Lawrenceburg, TN on Saturday, March 22, 2025.  The family will receive friends beginning at 10:30am with the Celebration of Life beginning at 11:30am. There will be a private family burial.

Rhonda’s spirit will live on in the words she wrote, the love she shared, and the memories she leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
