Rev. Billy G. Holloway

Reverend Billy Golden Holloway, 71, a resident of Mt. Pleasant died Monday, May 23, 2004 at the Veterans Hospital in Nashville.

Funeral services for Reverend Holloway will be conducted Wednesday, May 26, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Reverend Jim Ledbetter and Reverend Larry Dale Combs officiating. Burial will be in the Summertown Cemetery in Summertown, Tennessee. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the son of the late Clyde and Clara Darnell Holloway and husband of Carolyn Martin Holloway. He was a graduate from the Bible Baptist seminary in Nashville, Tennessee, retired from the US Army as an officer after 26 years service and a retired Pastor. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Sheila Jerry Wayne Baker of Athens, AL, Debbie Kenny Staples of Virginia and Teresa Kittrell of Mt. Pleasant; a son, Billy Ricky Patricia Holloway of Summertown; five granddaughters, Angela Jones of Atlanta, GA, Laura Baker of Joshua, TX, Daniella McGill of Korea, Chelsea Staples of Virginia and Krista Kittrell of Mt. Pleasant; three grandsons, Will Kittrell of Mt. Pleasant , Tyler Holloway and Corey Beckum, both of Summertown; five great grandchildren; six sisters, Ann Hall of Joelton, TN, Beverly Warrik and Rosie Mae Anderson, both of Nashville, Betty Ann Brown and Essie Scales, both of Murfreesboro and Jibby Rhodes of Linden; two brothers, Eddie Holloway of Nashville and Benny Holloway of Linden. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Active pallbearers will be Keith Clodfelter, Claude Brawner, David Martin, Jerry Baker, Kenny Staples, and Hunter Kittrell. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Williams, Tyler Holloway, Corey Beckum, Will Kittrell and the ministers and staff of the Southern Baptist Convention
