Renis W. Baker

Mr. Renis Baker, age 85, resident of Robinson Road in the Boston Community of Williamson County, passed away August 11, 2010 at his residence following an extended illness.

Funeral services for Mr. Baker will be conducted at 4:00 P.M. on Friday, August 13, 2010 in the chapel of the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with Ronnie Kephart and Little Renis T. Baker officiating. Interment will follow in the Sparkman Cemetery in Williamson County with military honors being provided by the Herbert Griffen American Legion Post 19.


The family will receive friends from 4:00 P.M. until 8 P.M. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Born January 6, 1925 in the Theta Community of Maury County, he was the son of the late Bernard E. and Lillie Walters Baker. He was the husband of Darithy McCanless Jackson Baker of the Boston Community of Williamson County. Mr. Baker was employed for over 40 years with Crozier Oil Company. He retired as manager from the North Garden BP. He also had delivered gas for many years. He was past president of the Coon Hunters Association. He sang in a gospel quartet for many years. He presently was serving as a road commissioner for the 2nd district of Williamson County. He was a member of the Boston Church of Christ.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah Baker Patterson of Mt. Pleasant; step-daughter, Wanda Wayne Davis of the Boston Community; step-son, Mike JoAnn Jackson of the Boston Community; four granddaughters, Misti Warren of Mt. Pleasant, Tiffany Andy Jenks of Lynnville and Stacey Barry Martin of Franklin and Pam Allen Clark of the Theta Community; two grandsons, Kevin Jessica Davis of Franklin and Michael Jodi Jackson of the Boston Community; three great-granddaughters, Mylee Martin, Mason Sharp both of Franklin and Phoenix Jackson of the Boston Community; two great-grandsons, Mason Schmdet of Franklin and Levi Jackson of the Boston Community; and a brother, Fay Juanita Baker of Nashville. He was preceded in death by a son, Donald Ray Baker, step-son Robert Jackson, a grandson, Greg Davis, two sisters, Clara Choate and Jean Baker and four brothers, Paul, Pat, Roy and Dick Baker.

Active pallbearers will be Kevin "Bubba" Davis, Michael Jackson, Cordell Choate, David Baker, Kenny Baker, Randall Baker and Andy Jenks. Honorary pallbearers will be Employees of the Williamson County Highway Department and Board, members of the Boston Church of Christ, Mike Jackson, Wayne Davis, Mike Beard, Jimmy Davis, Jimmy Lancaster, Jim Allgood, Lester King, James Smith, Sheriff Enoch George, David Poyner, J.B. West, Barry Martin, Weldon Adams, Bobby Norman, Don Hassell and Randall Davis.
