Irene Lorree Jenkins, “Renee,” passed away peacefully in her home on November 24, 2024. She took her last earthly breath holding her son’s hands and surrounded by her loved ones.
Renee was born October 24, 1968 to Daniel Hepner and Sandra Weaver in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She worked for over 20 years as a CNA and found great satisfaction in helping and loving others, and she found purpose in knowing she made a difference in people’s lives. Renee selflessly never turned a blind eye to anyone in need and was known as “Ma” to everyone who knew her.
Renee’s gypsy spirit took her on many adventures throughout the country, but anywhere there was water was where she found peace. She was a devout animal lover and spent her life rescuing and caring for animals of all kinds; in fact, her home was often referred to as “the zoo.” She loved people best by being there for them and helping them any way they needed, and any way she could. She wanted to be remembered that she “just loved.” Her spirit will live on in the lives of those she touched, and her legacy will be remembered with love.
Renee is preceded in death by her father Daniel Hepner, her mother Sandra Weaver, and her sister Veronica Thompkins. She is survived by her stepfather Bruce Levi, stepmother Suzann Hepner, children Albert (Carly) Temple, Daniell (Rachel) Doughty, and Maysie Doughty, grandchildren: Fiona (Nate) Fuller, Finnegan Jacobs, Eily Jacobs, Caroline Temple and Asher Doughty, and siblings Sharon Gallentine, Roger (Sherry) Smith, Linda TenHave, Kenny Weaver, Angela (Ken) Brunette, and Audra (Stacey) Bruner, and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly. Her passing leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who knew her.
Service arrangements will be announced at a later date.
