Rene Eugene Morales

Rene Eugene Morales, age 67, of Pulaski, Tennessee passed away on September 11, 2018 surrounded by the love of his family and friends at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

To define Rene would be impossible, to describe him in a phrase would be “one of a kind”. Rene was a man of love, love he showed to those in his family and love for the strangers he met throughout his day. Rene never met a stranger and never treated anyone as such. He loved to meet new people and help those around him. He loved life and was blessed to spend the last 30 years of his life married to his beloved Linda. They were to celebrate their 30th wedding anniversary on September 16th. Rene and Linda had the joy of raising their children together, he was a proud father and loved his children very much. They also shared the blessing of numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Rene was thankful for and loved all of his family including his in laws and extended family. Rene had a great love for motorcycles, he ran marathons, enjoyed bicycling and in general making wonderful memories with his family and friends. Rene was also a man of great faith, he was a member of St. Catherine’s Church in Columbia. Rene’s life was a legacy that will live on in his family, friends and those who knew him.

Rene worked for General Motors for 33 years. He began his career with General Motors at Electro-Motive in Chicago, Illinois. Following his work at Electro-Motive he worked at Fisher Body Buick-Oldsmobile-Cadillac in Chicago where he met Linda. In 1988 they moved to Middle Tennessee where he continued his career at Saturn in Spring Hill. Rene was planning his retirement.

Rene is survived by his wife, Linda Morales; children, Rene (Jessica) Morales, Eric (Alena) Morales, Denise Morales, Christopher (Julia) Morales, Rachel (Steve) Zeffield, Jeremy (Cassie) Morales, Nathan (Carli) Morales, and Jacob (Lynn) Morales; siblings, Joan Morales, Dennis Morales and Loretta (Michael) Doyle; mother in law, Andrea Garcia and father in law, Gilberto Martinez as well as numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, brother in laws, sister in laws and nieces and nephews. Rene was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Mary Morales.

Rene’s family will visit with friends on Saturday, September 15, 2018 and Sunday, September 16, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine’s Church in Columbia with Father Davis Chackaleckel officiating.

Pallbearers are Rene Morales Jr., Eric Morales, Christopher Morales, Jeremy Morales, Nathan Morales and Jacob Morales. Honorary pallbearers are friends and past and present coworkers of the CUC Powerhouse.
