Mrs. Remona Louise Cothran Butler, age 80, a resident of Old Lewisburg Highway, passed away on Saturday, November 14, at NHC Hillview.
Funeral services for Mrs. Butler will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Jim Cox and Calvin Hardison officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 2:00 ? 8:00 P.M. and on Monday from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was born April 8, 1929, the daughter of the late Jessie Franklin "Mike" Cothran and Bonnie Mai Nicholson Cothran. She was the wife of Johnny Warren Butler. Remona was a former employee of Taylor's Laundry and Amberly Hoisery, both in Columbia. She was a homemaker who loved playing cards. Remona had a special love for her grandchildren and was a member of the Antioch Church of Christ.
Survivors in addition to her husband include her children: Jeannie Ricky Graham of Columbia, Sandy Dennis Collins of Culleoka, Mary Sue Gerald Greggs of Lewisburg, Jimmy Denise Butler of Lewisburg and David Whitehead of Antioch; two sisters: Edith Roberts of Saginaw, MI and June Faye Charles Beckum of Columbia; grandchildren: Kim Bubba Webb of Lewisburg, Annette Michael Sullivan of Lewisburg, Tracy Tommy Ring of Columbia, Brad Callie Collins of Columbia, Angel Collins of Culleoka, Nicole Wayne Britton of Lewisburg, Hannah Butler of Lewisburg, and Austin Whitehead of Antioch; 20 great-grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren: Chris Collins, Dana Jones, Rodney Bridget Collins and Brittany Cole; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by 3 sisters: Mary Demke, Juanita Roberts and Jimmie Fowler; 4 brothers: Raymond Cothran, Richard Cothran, Gene Cothran and Charles Ray Cothran and a great-grandson: Jakob Franklin Collins.
Pallbearers will be Frankie Hancock, Gregg Webb, Jerry Hartsfield, Roscoe Brannon, David Bobo and Bobby Bobo. Honorary pallbearer will be Carolyn Baxter.
