Mrs. Sarah Rebecca "Becky" Collins Toone, age 81, a resident of Trousdale Lane of Columbia passed away on Wednesday, April 29, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services for Mrs. Toone will be conducted Saturday May 2, at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home of Columbia with Rev. Chris Ball officiating. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the Mt Pleasant Cemetery in Ardmore, Alabama.
The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00-9;00 P.M. and on Friday from 4:00-9:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Born on January 9, 1928 in Limestone County, Alabama, Mrs. Toone was the daughter of the late Ulna and Clara Mae Ervin Collins and the widow of James Donald Toone, Sr., Becky worked at Woolworth for 14 years and then did housekeeping for the Robert Parks family for 30 years. She was a very active member of the Temple Baptist Church. Becky loved her flower garden and the outdoors, loved her Lord and loved her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Melanie Dawn Carl Wright, James Barbara Toone, Sherrill Donna Toone of Columbia; daughter-in-law: Kathie Toone of Columbia; one sister: Tula Mae Standbrook; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Dennis Toone.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Wright, Jacob Toone, Timothy Peden, Cliff Hawkins, J. T. Marshall and Rex Toone. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Patrick, Carl Wright, Robert Parks family and Deacons of the Temple Baptist Church.
