Reba Louise Savage, 95, longtime resident of the Hampshire Community, died Saturday, January 18, 2020, at NHC Maury Regional Transitional Care Center.
The family will visit with friends on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, from 12:00 -2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM with Randy Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery.
Born July 28, 1924 in Maury County, she was the daughter of the late George Minor Savage and the late Sarah Irene Rice Savage. After graduating from Hampshire High School in 1942, she worked for The Hampshire Bank and for The United States Postal Service for 47 years retiring in 1993 as Postmaster of Hampshire. She was a lifetime member of NAPUS and a member of UPMA. Volunteering with the Auxiliary at Maury Regional Hospital was her passion accumulating over 20,000 hours of service. Along with cooking, she enjoyed sewing, knitting and crocheting. She loved to travel having visited much of the United States as well as several foreign countries. She was a big fan of the Lady Volunteers. Miss Savage was a member of the Catheys Creek Church of Christ.
Survivors include nephew Thomas Walker Prince, nieces Anna Lynn Johnson (Ronnie) and Jenny Louise Prince and great niece Julie Amanda Johnson.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister Anna Ruth Savage Prince, brother-in-law William Walker Prince, niece Janie Susan Prince and special friend Archie Brown Cathey.
Pallbearers will be Benny Morton, Larry Church, Mark Jones, Gwynn Savage, Dwight Savage, Jody Shannon, Eric Runions and Jimbo Patton
