Raymond Pitts

Mr. Raymond ?Pops? Pitts, age 80, resident of the Greens Mill Road in Columbia, passed away Thursday, August 31, 2006, in Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Ricky Glass and Charlie Mabry officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 5:00 ? 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Mt. Pleasant native was the son of the late Harry Pitts and Bertha Hostford Pitts. He was retired from Libby Glass in Toledo, OH and was an avid sportsman, enjoying both baseball and bowling. He was a Navy veteran of WW II and was a member of the Locust Street Church of Christ.
Survivors include one son: Ray Sally Pitts of Columbia; one sister: Willodean Shaw of Summertown; one granddaughter: Sonia Pitts of Oxnard, CA; great-grandchildren. one special nephew: Charlie Mabry of Summertown; special friends: Christine Shaffer of Ethridge and Danny Rutherford of Columbia. He was preceded in death by one sister: Francis Warden and one grandson: Jasin Pitts;
Pallbearers will be Mike Bennett, Mickey mabry, Tom Shaffer, Danny Shaffer, Dan Bushey and Jeff Cummings.
