Raymond L. Smith, Jr.

Mr. Raymond Lewis "Sonny" Smith, Jr., age, 62, a resident of Camp Branch Road in Mt. Pleasant passed away Wednesday, August 20, at his residence.
Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be conducted Saturday, August 23rd at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Brother Ed Brown officiating Burial will follow in the Beech Hill Church of Christ Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the son of Frances Johnson Smith and the late Raymond L. Smith, Sr. He was a graduate of Hay Long High School. Mr. Smith was a former employee of Stauffer Chemical Company, a carpenter, and a farmer. He was a member of Beech Hill Church of Christ.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two daughters: Gena Robert Caldiraro of Mt. Pleasant and Missy David Phillips of Columbia.; grandchildren: Chuckie Heather Vaughn of Powell, TN, Cortland Phillips of Columbia and Raeann Phillips of Columbia and Sydney Caldiraro of Mt. Pleasant; great-grandchildren: Jamison Mc Ilveen and Alyssa Vaughn both of Powell, TN; two nieces: Mary Lynn Smith and Janie Jo Smith, both of Hampshire; one nephew: Hugh Brande Smith of Parsons, TN; a brother: Huey Anita Smith of Hampshire and a sister: Nancy S. William R. Roland of Centerville.
Pallbearers will be David Phillips, Robert Caldiraro, Hugh Smith, Ricky Roland, Chuckie Vaughn and J.H. Dodson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Renfro, Tommy Lee Ragsdale, Dwayne Glass, Tommy Smith, Allie B. Smith, Doy Sharpe, Earl Cooper, Steve Gunells.
Memorials may be made to the Beech Hill Church of Christ, Highway 166 North, Mt. Pleasant, TN 38474.
