Mr. Ralph N. Sanders Jr., 76, a resident of Carol Drive, died Wednesday, May 15, 2002 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Sanders will be conducted Friday, May 17 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Williams Columbia Funeral Home with the Rev. John Rushing officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Polk Memorial Gardens.
He was a production foreman at Monsanto and retired in January of 1981 after 35 years of service.
The Lyons, Georgia native was the son of the late R. N. Sanders and the late India Durden Sanders. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Betty E. Norman Sanders.
In addition to his wife he is survived by three children, a daughter, Teresa Ray Hooten of Lynnville, TN. and two sons, Ralph Melanie Sanders of Sikeston, Missouri, and Rick Carolyn Sanders of Apachie Junction, Arizona; three granddaughters, Karen Sammy Boehms of Columbia, Patrice Bill Roberts of High Ridge, Missouri, and Linzie Sanders of Belvidere, TN.; three grandsons, Scott Rhonda Sanders of Nixa, Missouri, Keith Hooten of Lynnville and Kevin Kim Hooten of Mt. Pleasant; five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, four sisters; Audry Pete Payne, Geraldine
J. V. Hill, Joyce Larry Massey and Jackie Joe Dale, all of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Roy Sanders and two sisters, Billy Jean Harmon and Doris Jester.
Pallbearers will be; Sammy Boehms, Pete Payne, Steve Wilkinson, Troy Bowers, Jimmy Hooten and Mike Hooten.
Honorary pallbearers will be; Calvin Bradley, Kirby McMunn, Ronnie Shultz, Dr. H. George Azar, Dr. Steve Simmons, Bart Boaz, John H. Davis Jr., Jimmy Sanders, Clyde Yeager and the retired employee's of Monsanto.
Memorials may be made to the Northside Baptist Church Building Fund.
