Rachel Hickman Kersey

December 2, 1924 — January 17, 2010

Mrs. Rachel Hickman Kersey age 85, passed away on Sunday, January 17th, at Maury Regional Medical Center. She was a longtime resident of the Screamer Community.

Funeral services for Rachel will be conducted Tuesday Jan. 19th at 2:00P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rachel's grandsons, Randy Kersey and David Kersey officiating. Burial will follow in the Spencer Hill Cemetery.

The family will visit with friends Monday January 18, from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Rachel was born on December 2, 1924 in the Lynnville Community. She was the daughter of the late Henry Clayton Hickman and Memorie Bradley Hickman. Rachel married Flenoy Copeland Kersey on November 6, 1939.

Survivors are Rachel's children, Raymond Kersey of Fayette, AL, Jerry Linda Gail Cook Kersey of Pulaski, Paul Dianna Willoughby Kersey, Fay Kersey, Sherlyn Kersey and Doris Kersey of Mt. Pleasant; special daughter-in-law: Betty Cummins Kersey of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren: Joan James Kittrell, Randy Kersey, David Tammy Kersey, Jennifer Andy Sensat, Jo Ann Norm Zohner, Judy Kersey, Brian DeDe Kersey, Sherie John Yurewitch, Nathan Kersey, Kindlyn Chris Simpson; 17 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Rachel was preceded in death by her husband, Flenoy in 1995 and her children: Carolyn Sue1945, Patricia Ann 1945, Clayburn 1992, J.T. 2000, and Charles 2004; special daughter-in-law, Jennie Mae Beasley Kersey 2006.

Pallbearers will be Rachel's sons: Raymond, Jerry and Paul, her daughter, Doris, and grandsons, Nathan and Brian.

The family request memorials may be made to Spencer Hill Church of Christ.
