Rachel Lucille Hedrick, age 86 of Williamsport, Tennessee, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at her residence.
Rachel was born to the late Jessie Brown Andrews and Meadie Dell Andrews Ellis in Chestnut Ridge, Tennessee on April 9, 1928. Rachel was married to Harry Hedrick for 57 years prior to his passing in 2002. She was a loving wife, mother, and homemaker. The first thing anyone ever said about Rachel was how much they loved her cooking. Rachel enjoyed gardening, sewing, and arts and crafts. She was a member of Williamsport Baptist Church.
The family will visit with family and friends on Sunday, September 7 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. A funeral service to celebrate Rachel’s life will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Bro. Randy McNeece officiating. Entombment will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
Rachel is survived by her son Logan (Gloria) Hedrick of Mt. Pleasant; daughter Shelia (David) Oliver of Williamsport; granddaughter Hope D. Hedrick; grandson Dax (Jill) Russell; great-grandson Nathan Russell and Zakkary Russell; sister Mirt Armstrong; sister-in-law Barbara Hutt and several nieces and nephews.
Rachel was preceded in death by her parents Jessie Brown Andrews and Meadie Dell Andrews Ellis; her husband Harry Tanksley Hedrick; brother Thomas Andrews; and sister Daisy Hogan.
The pallbearers will be Rachel’s family and friends.
Honorary Pallbearers are Dr. Couch and the staff of Caris Health Care.
