Rachel Cheek Garner, 95, passed away on the morning of June 18, 2017 at her home in Columbia after an extended illness.
Rachel’s family will visit with friends on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia. Funeral service for Ms. Garner will be held on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at 2:00PM with Jeremy Butt and Wayne Hardison officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
Rachel was born on December 17, 1921 in Maury County, TN. She was the daughter of the late Pat White and Houston Cheek. She enjoyed singing, home making, and being with her family and friends. She was a member of the Northview Church of Christ.
Survivors include, Daughter, Judy (Clay) Hopwood of Columbia; Daughter in law, Beverly Primm of Columbia; Grandchildren, Terry Primm of Columbia, Linda (John) Carlen of Pennsylvania, Melanie (Mickey) Hall of Columbia, and Renee (Sam) Jacobs of Columbia; Great Grandchildren, Robyn (Billy) Sharp of Columbia, Tyler Mobbs of Pennsylvania, Cassidi Jones of Columbia, Hannah Primm of Columbia, and Matthew Primm of Columbia; Great Great Grandchildren, Rose and Michael; 8 Step Grandchildren; Step Daughters, Jill (Tim) Gibson and Cherese (Robert) Brooks; Step Sons, Chappell (Marie) Garner and Chris Garner; Extended family, Jodi and Gary Duren; Several nieces and nephews and a host of special friends and family.
Ms. Garner is preceded in death by her husband, K.C. Garner; Son, Jerry Primm; Brothers, Clyde and Chesley Cheek; Nephews, J.C. and Earl Cheek.
Pallbearers will be Terry Primm, Chris Garner, David Cheek, Billy Cheek, Gary Duren, Matthew Primm, and Sam Jacobs.
