Rachel Benderman Nichols

Mrs. Rachel Zetty Benderman Nichols, 78, wife of George Nichols, died Monday, September 19, 2005 at her residence on North Main Street in Mt. Pleasant.

Funeral services for Mrs. Nichols will be conducted Thursday, September 22, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Randy McNeece officiating. Burial will be in the Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late William Robert and Avie Robinson Benderman. She was retired from General Electric Corporation and a member of Pleasant Heights Baptist Church.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Gail Gary Whitley of Chapel Hill, TN, Paul Tammy Nichols of Summertown, TN, Jeanne Buddy Tomlin of Franklin, TN, Kay Mike Humphries and Connie Larry Vandygriff both of Mt. Pleasant, TN, and Tammy Stephen Walker of Columbia, TN; a daughter-in-law, Margaret Ann Nichols of Williamsport, TN; 16 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Carl Wayne Nichols; a grandson, Robert Wayne Nichols; a great granddaughter, Emily Michelle Stancil.

Pallbearers will be Brad McCain, Brent McCain, Scottie Nichols, Ryan Staggs, Brian Vandygriff, Wendell Vandygriff, Jay Hutcherson, and Justin Dillehay. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Thomas Dake and staff.
