R.L. Workman, 80, of Mount Pleasant, TN passed away on September 25, 2017.
R.L. was born on May 28, 1937 to the late William and Artie Workman in Lawrence County, Tennessee. R.L. was a selfless man who loved to help and do anything for anyone. He would worry about everyone else, never himself. He loved to play tricks on people and was known for being a storyteller. He was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ.
R.L. is survived by his sons: Randy (Theresia) Workman and Ronnie Workman, both of Mount Pleasant, TN; sisters: Faye (Wallace) Chapman, Jody Crews and Vicky (Tim) Sutherlan; brother: Bill (Bobbie) Workman; granddaughters: Rainey (Luke) Fisher, Tiffany(Jason) Estes, Nina White; grandsons: Wayne Ballinger, Matthew (Kayla) Robinson, Charlie (Christy) Robinson; special great great granddaughters: Maylee Fisher and Kynlee Fisher as well as 9 other great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Pauline “Massey” Workman; parents: William and Artie Workman; son: Rickey Workman; daughter: Karen Jean Workman; brothers: WH, Huston, Ollie, Bobby Gene “Red” and Donald Ray Workman and sister: Mary Ann Workman.
Pallbearers will include William Massey, Wallace Chapman, Jerry Allen, William Stokes, Bobby LeMay and Jackie Massey. Honorary Pallbearers will include past and current members of Mt. Zion Church of Christ, Staff of Hospice Compassus, Forrest “Jam Up” Chapman and Dalton Hayes.

R.L.’s life will be celebrated Friday September 29, 2017 beginning at 10 am at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Burial will follow at Blowing Springs. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, September 28th, beginning at 4 pm to 8 pm, also at Williams Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant. Dalton Cole will be officiating.
