Mrs. Phillis Morrison Simmons, 57, wife of Charles Ray Simmons and a resident of Wilderness Trail in Columbia, died Monday, July 26, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mrs. Simmons will be conducted Wednesday, July 28, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Wendell Robinson officiating and James T. Dubois presenting a eulogy. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Maury County native was the daughter of Ruth B. Haynes Morrison of Columbia and the late James W. Morrison, Jr. She was a legal assistant for Dubois and Dubois, PC and attended the Graymere Church of Christ.
In addition to her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, William J. ?Bill? Gaskill of Spring Hill, TN; two step daughters, Vanisia Lee Simmons of Baxterville, MS and Rae Ann Simmons of Zachary, LA; a brother, James B. Cheryl Morrison of Columbia, TN; five grandchildren; a brother-in-law, James W. Simmons of Missouri; a sister-in-law, Rubie Pearle Kanzler of Cheyenne, WY; an uncle, Bill Betty Haynes of Columbia, TN; nieces and nephews, Joel B. Morrison and Leslie C. Morrison both of Columbia, TN, Mark True of Denver, CO, Dan True, Ashley True, and Anthony True all of Cheyenne, WY; several cousins. She was preceded in death by grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James W. Morrison, Sr. and Mr. and Mrs. Ben Haynes; an uncle, Tom Haynes.
Pallbearers will be James Farris, Lamar Chessor, George Chessor, Stephen Haynes, David Haynes, and Douglas Williams. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Dubois and Dubois, PC, all real estate agencies and lenders, James T. Dubois, Tom Dubois, Tony Beyer, Jim Bratton, Tracy Rinks, and Sally Woodard.
