Phillip "Phil" Hasting Mcalister

Mr. Phillip Hasting ?Phil? McAlister, 67, resident of Ashwood Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Thursday, August 5, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital.

A memorial service for Mr. McAlister will be conducted Sunday August 8, 2004 at 3:00 p.m. at the St. Peters Episcopal Church with Reverend Thomas S. Wilson officiating. Inurnment will be in the St. John?s Episcopal Churchyard. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. in the church parrish hall. Williams Funeral home in Columbia will be in charge of the arrangements.

The Lincoln County, TN native was the son of the late James L and Martha Hasting McAlister. He was the husband of Sylvia Smith McAlister of Mt. Pleasant. He was a retired salesman for Lovell Office Machine and a former owner and operator of McAlister Office Products. Mr. McAlister was member of Maury County Chamber of Commerce, Past President of Maury County Arts Guild, former member of the Columbia Kiwanis Club, avid golfer and loved all sports including UT football. He served in the Tennessee National Guard. He was a member of St. Peters Episcopal Church in which he was active in the church choir.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by Children, Lisa Hull of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Phillip H. Dana McAlister, Jr. of Knoxville, TN and Matt Amy McAlister of Mt. Pleasant, TN; one brother, James L. Virginia McAlister of Brentwood, TN; his grandchildren, Mac Hull of Mt. Pleasant, TN, Wyatt McAlister and Sam McAlister both of Knoxville, TN, Maddie McAlister and Josie McAlister both of Mt. Pleasant, TN; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Strubbe, Robert Stockard, Ronald Church, Mac Hull, Phil Lovell, Jim McAlister, Mitch McAlister, Milt Blount, Employees of Lovell Office Machines, Oncologist Associates at Maury Regional Hospital and Radiology Department at Maury Regional Hospital.
