Phillip Barry Burns, 56, passed away on August 7, 2020 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Phillip was born on January 13, 1964, to the late Paul Burns and Norma Tucker Burns in Columbia, Tennessee. He worked at Kroger for 12 years along with working at Barton Tires in Henryville for more than 30 years. Phillip was a kind, generous, hardworking, loving man with a great sense of humor. He was always ready to give a quick-witted response to people. His hobbies were deer hunting and fishing. He also loved playing and watching sports, especially basketball. He was a member of Summertown Baptist Church, the Masons and NRA. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years: Brenda Burns; daughter: Brittany Burns; son: Marshall Burns; granddaughters: Zoey and Piper Vaughn; grandson: Matthew Woo; and sisters: Terri (Donny) Story and Lisa (Jim) Hammond. He is preceded in death by his father: Paul L. Burns.
Services will be Tuesday, August 11 at Williams Funeral Home, Mt Pleasant, Tennessee at 2:00 PM with Bro. Howard Kitter officiating. Family will visit with friends on Monday, August 10, 2020 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM and on Tuesday, at 1:00 until time of service. Burial will follow at the Masonic Cemetery in Ethridge.
Pallbearers are: Chris Hunter, Mike Johns, Ethan Kitter, Robert Bobo, Josh Bowden, Steven Kilpatrick, Donnie Putnam, and Charles Gaines.
Honorary pallbearers are: his co-workers past and present at Barton Tires and present employees of James Campbell Kroger.
