Peggy Patton Edwards

Peggy Patton Edwards, age 90, passed away at Ivy Crest Assisted Living in Pulaski, TN surrounded by family on January 1, 2023. Peggy was born July 13, 1932, in Elizabeth City County, Virginia to the late Alfred William Patton and Ruby McCaskill Patton.

Peggy had many interests and lived a full life. It began with her finding the love of her life, William Lee Edwards, Jr. They married young, and Lee whisked Peggy away to Panama and Puerto Rico following the Navy’s orders. From there Peggy began a life and family that she cherished. She worked for much of her life as a secretary for the Army and later worked over 25 years as an office manager at Brinks, Inc. in Tampa, FL before moving to be closer to family in Tennessee. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. All of her grandchildren affectionately referred to her as Nana. Peggy was an avid reader and gardener. She also loved to travel and enjoyed discovering new experiences. Peggy was a member of Grace Nazarene in Columbia, TN where she attended faithfully for many years. Peggy was well-loved by her family and all who knew her, and she will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her daughters: Patricia Lee Edwards and Pamela (Carter) Edwards Moore; grandchildren Brian (Sandi) Moore, William (Rachyl) Moore, Jason (Danielle) Moore, and Jared (Rachel) Moore; great-grandchildren: Alex, Hudson, Grayson, Sarah, Kaylee, Laiya, and Arielle. Peggy is preceded in death by her parents and husband of 53 years, William Lee Edwards, Jr.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 12, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia, Tennessee. A memorial service for Peggy will be held immediately following visitation at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Jason Caddy officiating.
