Mrs. Peggy J. Goad, age 72, a resident of Hilltop Drive in Columbia, passed away on Friday, April 30, at NHC/Columbia.
Funeral services for Mrs. Goad will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Eddie Rogers and Bro. Joe Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens.
The family will visit with friends on Sunday from 5:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Born on May 1, 1937 in Lauderdale County, AL, Peggy was the daughter of the late George and Leona Bates Price. She was the wife of Leslie Goad of Columbia. Peggy was a former employee of Storktown and Maury Mfg. She loved being a homemaker and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and most recently her great-granddaughter. She enjoyed going to yard sales, sewing and crocheting. Peggy was a member for some 40 years of the Philippi Church of Christ.
Survivors in addition to her husband Leslie include her children: Brenda Johnny Cox of Columbia, Linda Teddy Fralix of Columbia, Bill Tammy Goad of Robards, KY and Barry April Goad of Columbia; grandchildren: Jonathan Kelley Cox, Jason Kasey Cox, Jeremy Laura Fralix, Josh Xanthia Fralix, Tyler Whitney Goad, Leslie Brooke Goad, Marissa Goad and Barry Colton Goad; 1 great-granddaughter: Brylee Breann Cox; sisters and brother: Dorothy Beasley of Florence, AL, Evon Frasier of Savannah, TN, Martha Atkisson of Florence, AL, Marie Mooneyham of Savannah, TN and John Lewis Price of Florence, AL. In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by one son: Leslie Goad, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Tyler Goad, Jonathan Cox, Jason Cox, Jeremy Fralix, Josh Fralix and Daryl Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Philippi Church of Christ, Barbara & Billy Gowan, Charles & Agnes Shouse, staff of NHC Columbia and Dr. Robert Bain.
