Pauline Pennington, age 97 of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 in Mt. Pleasant.

Pauline was born September 19, 1915 to the late Robert Allen and Maggie Johnson in Lawrence County. In 1943, she married Clarence Pennington until his passing in 1969. Pauline’s most important task in life was being a homemaker, and making sure her family was taken care of. Aside from spending time with her family, Memaw loved watching her favorite actor John Wayne in his many western movies. Pauline loved bird watching especially “hummidy”, a term she used for hummingbirds.

The family will gather with friends and family to share memories of Pauline’s life Friday, April 5, 2013 from 4:00-8:00 P.M. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Services will follow on Saturday, April 6, 2013 in the chapel at 2:00 P.M. with Bro. Jason Love officiating. Burial will follow the service in Summertown Cemetery.

Survivors include her children: Katherine “Lucille” (Jr.) Ragsdale of Mt. Pleasant, Christine Shaffer of Ethridge, TN, Robbie McNabb of Hohenwald; thirteen grandchildren, twenty-three great grandchildren, and seventeen great great grandchildren; one sister: Hazel Holder. She is preceded in death by a daughter: Betty Pennington; three grandchildren and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Larry Hardiman, Eddie Lee Hinson, Tommy Shaffer, Ray Franks, Gary McKennon, Jr., and Britton Davis.
