Paul Massey, age 72, a resident of Mt. Pleasant, TN passed away September 25 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Paul was born March 1, 1941 in Mt. Pleasant to the late Grover and Elise Massey being one of their 12 children. He spent 33 years working as Truck driver for McCanless Trucking. When he was not in his truck, it would be likely to find him fishing or camping. Paul loved our famous Maury County tradition of Mule Day, attending each year. He started his mornings with a visit to the local McDonalds, he loved giving those there a “hard time” so to speak. Paul was of the Church of Christ faith. He was married to his wife Ruby for nearly 50 years.
Services for Mr. Massey will be held Friday at Williams Funeral Home Mt. Pleasant beginning at 11:00 a.m. Theodore Durham will be officiating. Burial will follow at Arlington Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday September 26th from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers for Mr. Massey will be Sammy McCanless, Steven McCanless, Randall Scott, Ronnie Scott, Randall Johnson and Ricky Cook. Honorary Pallbearers will be Glenn Mash, Brennon Johnson, Justin Cook, Allen McCanless, The Staff of NHC and Dr. Kanth and his staff.
Paul is survived by his two daughters: Tammy (Terry) Cook and Terri (Randall) Johnson; Three grandsons: Ricky Wayne Cook, Justin Frank Cook and Brennon Kyle Johnson; Three sisters: Annie Henson, Shirley Ambrose and Sue (Tony) Thompson; Three brothers: William (Wanda) Massey, Jackie (Cindy) Massey and Donald (Denise) Massey. Paul was also survived by a special friend Martha Davis. A daughter and son as well as 5 brothers and sisters preceded him in death.
