Paul E. McNabb was born on Feb. 4, 1928 in Lewis County, Tennessee to the late Nick and Lizzie Beth Runions McNabb. Paul was married to the late Grace Jackson McNabb and was the father of four children. He had served honorably as a Private First Class in the United States Army during the Korean War. He served in the 65th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Quartermaster Division and was very proud of his opportunity to serve his country. He was a member of the American Legion Post 109. He had retired as a truck driver having worked for W. A. Cummins in Mt. Pleasant, Venture Express in Nashville and Floyd and Floyd in Columbia. He served the Lord with his church family at Hampshire 1st Baptist Church.
Mr. McNabb, age 83, passed away at Vanderbilt University Medical Center following a brief illness on May 28, 2011 surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral services for Paul E. McNabb will be conducted Sunday, May 29, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Williams Funeral in Columbia, Tennessee. The family will visit with friends prior to the service beginning at 12:00 noon.
Paul is survived by his beloved children: Charlotte Haville Himes of Hampshire, Edwin Patty McNabb of Lawrenceburg, Connie Randy Hanson of Lewisburg, and Craig Melissa McNabb of Iron City; grandchildren: Daphne Ingram of Greenwood, IN, Tonya Himes of Mt. Joy, Chris McNabb of Sandy Hook, Elissa Wright of Phoenix, AZ, Brandon Hanson of Murfreesboro, Amberlin Paris of Lewisburg, Caleb Wise of Clarksville, Adam Hanson of Pulaski, Jonathan McNabb of Lawrenceburg, Jessica McNabb of Mt. Pleasant and Josh Himes of Hampshire; 17 precious great-grandchildren and many loved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brothers: James E. McNabb, Clarence McNabb and Mabry McNabb and his sisters: Stella Cates and Katie Williams.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Himes, Jonathan McNabb, Chris McNabb, Caleb Wise, Brandon Hanson, Adam Hanson and Joe Bennett. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Bain and his office and staff, Diana Himes precious granddaughter-in-law, Haville Himes, Randy Hanson, Paul's loving and caring neighbors on Ridgetop Road, and his church family at Hampshire 1st Baptist Church. The family would like to extend special thanks to the Neurology Critical Care Unit at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.
