Patsy Ann Grimes, age 82, passed away on September, 22, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Patsy was born on June 25, 1937 to the late Chuck Woodford Johnson and Annie Ruth “Jaggers” Smith who later married Rev. Jacob Smith. She and Walter Fariss Grimes were married for 64 wonderful years. She worked as a Library Aide at Mt Pleasant Elementary School for over a decade. She was of the Methodist faith. Patsy adored spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and working outdoors. She loved her furry family members, who were always adopted.
She is survived by her husband: Walter Fariss Grimes, Sr.; daughter: Angela (Bobby) Floyd of Columbia, Tennessee; son: Walter Fariss (Nora) Grimes, Jr., of Culleoka, Tennessee; grandchildren: Kayla (Carl) Newson, Anissa Rose Grimes and Ziva Claire Grimes; great-grandchildren: Harper Grace Newson and Bryce Carter Newson; nieces: Tracy Ferrell and Kelly Weise; brother-in-law: Hal Skelton. She was preceded in death by her mother and step-father, father and sister: Janie Johnson Skelton.
Services will be Tuesday, September 24, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Williams Funeral Home, Mt Pleasant. Family will visit with friends from 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial will follow at Polk Memorial Gardens.
Active Pallbearers will be: Walter Fariss Grimes, Jr., Bobby Floyd, Carl Newson, Hal Skelton, David Ferrell and Jimmy Lott.
The family requests that donations be made to the Maury County Animal Shelter in lieu of flowers.
