Mr. Patrick Denton, age 76, a resident of Alderwood Drive in Columbia, passed away on Friday, December 21, at Maury Regional Hospital.
Funeral services for Mr. Denton will be conducted Sunday at 3:00 PM at the Williams Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Dudley Stovall and Bro. Alan Broughton officiating.
The family will visit with friends Saturday from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home in Columbia. There will also be visitation at the Crestlawn Funeral Home in Macon, GA on Wednesday, December 26, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. with burial to follow in the Glen Haven Memorial Gardens in Macon.
Born in Sweetwater, TX, he was the son of the late Jesse Monroe and Mary Elizabeth Barton Denton and husband of Neva J. Goodman Belew Denton of Columbia. He retired from Inland Container as a millwright in Macon, GA, was a US Navy Aviation mechanic, and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church of Cool Springs in Thompson Station, where he was an ordained minister.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Michael M. Beverly Denton of Crawfordsville, IN and Patricia D. James Fennel of Macon, GA; step-children: Marilyn J. Stephan Haynes of Hartselle, AL, Jeffrey D. Theressa Belew of Lewisburg, TN, Vance A. Paula Belew of Columbia, and Philip A. Belew of Pulaski; grandchildren: Briana D. Fennel, Matthew R. Fennel and Kyle P. Fennel, all of Macon; step-grandchildren: Byron D. Haynes, Amanda D. Haynes and James E. Haynes, all of Hartselle, AL, Benjamin H. Belew of Lewisburg, Bryant A. Belew of Columbia, Eric A. Belew of Columbia, Ashley F. Belew of Pulaski, Colten A. Belew of Pulaski and David Swesey of Park City, TN; step-great-grandchildren: Christian A. Swesey of Lewisburg and Beverlyann M. Haynes of Hamden, CT. Numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Denton was preceded in death by his first wife: Della Mae Chesser Denton; one brother: Beale B. Denton and one sister: G. Waucel Fowler.
