Patricia "Patsy" Russell

Patricia “Patsy” Hicks Russell, 74 of Columbia, passed away on Monday, December 19, 2016 at NHC Hillview. Patsy loved dancing, especially ballroom and line-dancing. Music was her life. She really liked traveling, boating, camping, and gardening. For 38 years, Patsy worked at the Social Security Administration in Columbia before retiring. She volunteered as a van driver for Maury Regional Medical Center. Patsy was a long time member of Highland Park Baptist Church in Columbia where she was the organist for 37 years. She was also in the adult hand-bell choir and senior choir.

The funeral service for Ms. Russell will be on Wednesday, December 21, at 11:00AM at Highland Park Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Proctor and Rev. Wilson Henderson officiating. Burial will follow the service in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family invites friends for a visitation on Tuesday, December 20, from 4:00PM until 8:00PM at Williams Funeral Home in Columbia.
Family and friends will act as pallbearers for the service. Honorary pallbearers consist of all past and current members of Highland Park Baptist Church.

The survivors for Patsy include her children: Roger (Karen) Russell of Lewisburg, Tim (Sherry) Russell of Summertown, and Lisa (Keith) McNamara of Mt. Juliet; special companion, Ronald Long of Ethridge; grandchildren: Whitney (Warner) Dunlap, Brooke (Jeremy) Stover, Blake Shortridge, Kiersten Jones (Stephen), Jessica Russell, Ryan Russell, Garrett Wright, Zachary McNamara, Austin McNamara, and Lucas McNamara; great-grandchildren: Jackson Dunlap, Sawyer Dunlap, Libby Dunlap, and Ellie Brooke Dunlap; sisters Eleana McCoy and Dorthy Price; numerous nieces and nephews, and her best little buddy, Rowdy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Opril and Peggy Hicks.
