Patricia Ann Howell married the love of her life, Larry Wayne Hazelwood on May 10, 1968. They had been high school sweethearts and had spent many more days together than they ever spent apart, working side by side for many years. Mrs. Hazelwood was a 1968 graduate of Bodenham High School.
Mrs. Hazelwood is survived by daughters, Teresa Annette Hazelwood Long, of Louisiana and Tammy Kay Hazelwood Bowden of Columbia, Tennessee. She is also survived by grandsons: Kade Alan Bowden and Konner Blake Bowden, both of Columbia, Tennessee. Pat is survived by her sister, Brenda Gail Howell Kennedy and her brothers, Ricky Lynn Howell, and Toby Howell. She is also survived by her nephew, Barry Garner and nieces, Jamie, Jessica, Gwen, Kelly, and Carly. Mrs. Hazelwood is survived by many Hobbs and Howell cousins.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hazelwood is pre-deceased by grandparents: Edd Lee Hobbs, Eura Jane McClure Hobbs, Charles Edward Howell, and Elizabeth Jane Williams Howell. She is also pre-deceased by her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Belle Hazelwood and J. B. Hazelwood.
Pat was born a nurturer. She loved having and caring for any animal. She was happy when she was nursing the sick and giving them a reason to smile or to have a better day. Pat was loving, tender-hearted, a good listener, hard worker, and could tell a joke like no one else. Larry could always make her laugh spontaneously, just by making an off-the-cuff remark or a funny face. Any day Pat could be outside, enjoying the simple life of seeing pretty flowers, listening to the birds chirp, going on a job with Larry, walking in the woods, or even weed eating, was a good day for her.
Pat and Larry were a team, and Larry spent the most significant part of the last decade lovingly caring for her as they dealt with the ravages of Alzheimers Disease
Pallbearers will be Barry Garner, Zachary Garner, Billy Ray Kennedy, Bobby Gibbons, and Ric Lambert. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat’s Caris Hospice Care Team, especially, “Pat’s Angels,” Britnee and Brenda, and the Bodenham High School Class of 1968.
