Pat Staggs Powers

Mrs. Pat Staggs Powers, age 66, a resident of Meadow Road in Mt. Pleasant, passed away on Thursday, December 6, in Maury Regional Hospital

Funeral services for Mrs. Powers will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Emily Barker officiating. Entombment will be on Monday at 10:00 A.M. in the Polk Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will visit with friends on Saturday from 6:00 ? 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Leroy and Marie Wood Staggs. She was the wife of the late Richard Reams Powers. She was a cosmetologist and a wonderful wife, homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant.

Survivors include one daughter: Stephanie Ann Powers of Mt. Pleasant; one son: Dr. R. Reams Carey Powers, Jr., of Columbia; two sisters: Shirley Whitwell of Mt. Pleasant and Teressa Eddie Porterfield of Lawrenceville, GA; grandchildren: Margaret Patton Powers, Stephanie Darden Powers and Richard Reams Powers, III, all of Columbia and a sister-in-law: Sally Powers John Matlack of Texas; nephews: Mike Margaret Matlack of Dallas, TX and Matthew Shannon Matlack of Columbia, MO; great-niece and nephew: Betsy Matlack and Sam Matlack, both of Dallas, TX.

Pallbearers will be Ray Anderson, Vance Brummal, Bill Scannella, Tidlem McClain, Herb Rochelle, Gene Barker, Gary Joe King, Seth Brown, David Crews, Wally Couch, Lonnie Daniels and Billy Hollis. Honorary pallbearers will be Members of the First Presbyterian Church of Mt. Pleasant.
