Park Allen Boshears, age 87, passed from this life on July 16, 2013.
He was born on May 2, 1926 to James “Son” and Estelle Davis Boshears in Mt. Pleasant, Tennessee.
He was a veteran of the United States Army serving his country during World War II in occupied Japan. He worked at Union Carbide having retired after 25 years of service.
He loved his garden and sharing the harvest with others. He also loved to talk with people and usually had a funny story or joke to tell.
Additionally, he was a local gospel preacher for several small congregations of the Church of Christ in the area. Park was a sweet lovely man of God who will be missed by many and was a member of Spencer Hill Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife of 65+ years, Jane Elizabeth Parks Boshears, his three children Rosemary (James) Chapman, Paul (Annie) Boshears and Naomi (Steve) Kelley. His grandchildren are Mark (Lynn) Chapman, Melissa (Michael) Flick, Chris (Pam) Chapman, Debbie Boshears, Brandy (Kevin) Chiddister and Corrie Kelley. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren and 9 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two brothers, James Edward (Stud) Boshears and Herman Oakley (Bubbie) Boshears.
Funeral services for Mr. Boshears will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Williams Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant with Randy McNeece and Ricky Glass officiating. A private family interment will be held in Arlington Cemetery at a later date. The family will visit with friends on Friday, July 19, 2013 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
