Mr. Otis Raymond Guthrie, 89, a resident of Madison, Tennessee died Monday, August 4, 2003 at the VA Hospital in Murfreesboro.
Funeral services for Mr. Guthrie will be conducted Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at 11:00 a.m. at the Williams Columbia Funeral Home with reverend Johnnie Parish officiating. Burial will be in the Santa Fe Cemetery with military honors being provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post # 19. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
The Covington, Tennessee native was the son of the late Will and Cora Guthrie. He was the husband of Rachel Kelley Guthrie, formerly of the Santa Fe Community. After graduating from High School he went on the receive his degree in Theology. He was retired from AVCO Industries in Nashville as a machinist. He was a member of the Madison Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the American Legion. He served our country in the U.S. Army during World War II.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Vivian L. John Tison of Hendersonville, TN and Patricia Ann William Hutchinson of Decatur, AL; a granddaughter, Deanna ?Dee-Dee? Salazar of Nashville, TN; a great granddaughter, Onalise Salazar of Nashville; an adopted son, Don Williams of Big Rock, TN; Brothers-in-law, Leroy Kelley of Kentucky, Clifton Kelley of Columbia, TN, and Raybon Kelley of Santa Fe, TN; a sister-in-law, Loraine Dale Ireland of Smyrna, TN; his pet, Nehro. He was preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Kelley; sister and brother-in-law, Lois and E.H. Ballard; sisters ?in-law, Mrs. Archie Fox and Mrs. Esther Davis; a brother-in-law, Roland Kelley.
Pallbearers will be family members.
